Mission

To engage collaboratively with faculty across the schools and colleges to promote a climate that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

Vision

We seek to provide an environment where diversity is valued, and faculty are supported in having equitable opportunity to advance and achieve their professional goals. 

Goals

The University of Miami Faculty DEI Leaders Alliance (FDLA) strives to do the following:

  • Strengthen the recruitment, retention, and advancement of faculty from underrepresented groups. 
  • Continue to develop and implement best practices that promote a sense of belonging and align with the university’s commitment to DEI.  
  • Promote a curriculum that emphasizes academic innovation by strengthening equitable and inclusive pedagogy, and classroom environments.
